asknet expands its management team
Karlsruhe-based asknet AG has recently strengthened its management team. The addition of three new e-commerce experts puts it now in a position to tap the potential of its respective target markets even further.
Franz Schlickum joined the management team in early July as the new Vice President of the Business Unit Digital Goods. The expert on digital business concepts is responsible for expanding his business unit and the development of new digital products and services at asknet. “I was especially drawn to asknet by the opportunity to play an active entrepreneurial role. I manage my business unit as a kind of independent company within the company, as an ‘intrapreneur,’ if you will,” Schlickum said, describing why he decided to join asknet. Before taking up this post, Schlickum most recently worked with Tele2 as an independent consultant for establishing and expanding the online sales channel for cellular products. Schlickum also drew on his extensive digital marketing and online sales expertise in other positions of responsibility that he held within the telecommunications industry and as a consultant, including as the digital director at the media agency Maxus, as the head of online and web services at Versatel, as senior online consultant at Vodafone and as product manager for the T-Online shopping portal.
asknet also successfully recruited Alexander Del Toro Barba for the position of Senior Business Development Manager to tap into new markets. He will advise the management team and be responsible for developing and driving forward new ideas. “In my previous role as Senior Marketing Manager for Google Ireland, I was already pursuing projects independently. Here at asknet, I’m now developing entire product landscapes,“ Del Toro said, describing the challenge he faces at his new (former) employer. “I am excited to be back at asknet, since the company has changed significantly in 2015. The company’s focus on customer centricity can now be seen in new products and additional market opportunities, which I will assist in leveraging. Having such a direct impact and international perspective is truly unique.”
Noel Kienzle took over as Vice President of Professional Services at asknet AG on June 1, 2015. He boasts more than ten years of experience in software development and e-commerce. “Just a few days after I joined asknet, I was already consulting a company looking to find its bearings within the world of e-commerce. Extroversion is truly one of asknet’s guiding principles. The beating heart of the market is found among the customers ? and that is where you’ll find us,“ Kienzle said, summarizing his initial experiences at asknet. Prior to joining the company, he worked as a project manager and solutions architect for distributed web applications and international e-commerce solutions. Kienzle was responsible most recently for the Professional Services division at IntelliShop AG.
“The expansion of the management team is just one of the visible ways in which asknet’s jointly developed strategy for 2015 is now being implemented for all to see in line with the company’s stated values: entrepreneurship, customer centricity and a focus on sales/extroversion,” Tobias Kaulfuss explained, CEO of asknet AG.
asknet AG laid much of its strategic groundwork already at the beginning of the year when it divided the company into three business units: Digital Goods, Physical Goods and Academics. This decision has resulted in greater focus, and each part of the company is now in a position to act with the greatest possible leeway when it comes to sales activities.
“The objective is to sustainably enhance the entrepreneurship of every business unit and every employee so that we can engage in dialogue with the customer target groups in each of the relevant markets in a clear and dedicated fashion,” Tobias Kaulfuss said. “There are few international companies that have already integrated such an opportunity for leveraging potential into their core business as asknet has. It also places us in a better position to identify and develop new business beyond our key area of expertise.”
asknet has already begun to take advantage of business opportunities by expanding the service range for portal activities in the business unit Academics. To this end, the company recently added new hardware options.
asknet, a pioneer in the development of global e-commerce solutions, offers extensive expertise and individual shop solutions to ensure worldwide electronic distribution of products of all kinds 24/7 in more than 190 countries.
