The German Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media (BITKOM) represents a total of more than 1,000 companies. Its 850 regular members employ some 700,000 people and generate revenues of 135 billion Euro. They include manufacturers of ICT equipment and providers of software, IT services, telecommunication services and content. BITKOM is working, in particular, to improve the regulatory framework in Germany, for modernization of the education system and for an economic policy which encourages innovation.
